DCH Bachpan

Finally the video which we toiled so hard for is out and it has got some rave reviews and me and the guys are so happy. We have to celebrate the success and launch the making of the video but the whole experience was so enthralling I broke down the first time I saw the final cut.I end up watching the video 10 times a day, actually in the night from 2am or so,but the sense of satisfaction I get is beyond any feeling. The fateful sunday where Shazi who was supposed to be the third guy in the movie changed evrything. It was destined to be me and Omi on screen and not the three of us.Sunday 445 am,shazi is not picking up his calls.1 week to go.The major chunk was to be shot on sunday. It was a decision which we took in a split second and Im glad me,omi and unz went ahead with the script as today we can reap the fruits of work which is equivalent to a worker in a stone quarry. That morning we took the car reached churchgate by 6am,started shooting in formals.Changed in the car, since no one was there on the road,it was easy.Casuals on,we shot again. After the best breakfast Ive had in my life..yet we headed back home and reached around 12 pm.Slept for a while,2 pm we were back shooting the car sequence.440 pm we are back at home changing into our football oufits and the kids came down at 445.Kudos to Omi and Asha for managing the kids.Unz the director could have died,as he was leaning from the terrace but by 630 we did manage to get all the shots and it was a wrap.No vanity vans,no permission,no sopt boys its tough man this shooting schedule. Its not a thing for the faint hearted.Monday we didnt shoot at all,so Tuesday,Wednesday we did the remaining scenes and there was this extra shot where we wanted a girl to be shown as Omi's girl friend but didnt work out due to heavy rain fall(thank god it didnt rain all that time).
By the end of the week,we had the complete footage and the software and Unz slogged his ass off at nights and edited the footage cutting it from a 60 mins video to an 8 min 32 sec work of magic.
The loactions where we shot were our society-jalnidhi,marine drive, gateway of india, afghan church ,colaba and few places around our area like the chaat waalas, of course barista but we showed ccd since theie logo was readily accessible, azad maidan,d8 building(where i live) terrace,
laxmi park(used for weddings mostly,my house, omis house, the bhatt's house and of course the ground where the most incredible sessions were played the satdio santiago bridge olimpico(cricket strictly prohibited, tresspassers have been prosecuted)

I cant watch this after I go to Surrey,Ill cry like a baby.i shouldve said that in the end.Anyways the making of the video should be coming soon but I dont think Ill put that up,because we've done so many stupid things.

But it was an experience of a life time. We've made a lotta fans on the way,for eg curious on looker like watchmen, kachra waalas, barista staff,mr.Bankim and of course my so called "father in law"(Ill be writing a full article on that later) the great Mr.Malinga the Ceylonese Honduran.
Un fortunately Shaz wasnt there but hey thats fate.It had to be DCH,the wedding crashers,
And all credit to Unz,the director and editor.Of course Asha for all her support.Arya,Anish their parents,Chirag.
And to all my friends who have appreciated me for the video. Now they do understand Im not a vagabond,I have some amount of creative streak here and there.
Thank you!!!Grazias Signoras and Amicos and the In betweens..(read shaz)..ha ha ha

Guildford Here I come

My first post of this month. Its been so hectic, but I read in am astro prediction somewhere that from August is when my so called 'good' time begins and voila,1st august our music video is done, and my visa comes after the long anticipated wait.So ya,things did pan out good in the end,and from this month a gruesome list of things to be done more tougher than any task done by me beckons but finally it is a realisation of a dream.Since the past some time, feels like an eternity to me Ive been wanting to live life.On my own,as In a Libran i love being independent so the dream has to be studying and working in a foreign land and all this time it was the USA.But fate had its own story and just like MK Gandhi I head to the United Kingdom in my pursuit of freedom.Im not drawing up comparisons with the Mahatma but we were born on the same date,so there are some incredible coincidences.
Anyways, the sadness of leaving Mumbai is over shadowed by a sense of adventure, something new and a path untrodden.A new chapter,a journey without a map and I cant wait to start my life in Surrey. Its going to be tough, obviously nothing in life comes easy.Cooking, washing clothes, managing money(trust me Im so bad) and obviously the challenges of living in a foreign land is all what Im looking forward to.
Its a dream that is becoming a clearer picture as time ticks by,and although Mumbai is my home in this life, its about time I turn my boring life on the hook and take the path that destiny has set up for me.
