Delilah

Theres a doe eyed girl who sits on her window watches and waits the storm to abate,
It mocks her and gets stronger, dealing a severe blow and twists her fate.
The cold wind blows her lustrous but short salt-peppered hair, a hope that lady luck will smile,
But even a glimmer of hope is not seen in the horizon as her endless wait seems to have gone futile.
The girl is a dreamer, her heart so pure and filled with love, not getting her due,
Her soul so divine that when you know her you know people like her are very few.
Her face is the portal for all her expressions, failing to hide whatever she thinks in her head,
When she smiles, the world seems happier as her face becomes dark tomato red.
That is the cutest sight, but when she wallows in self pity and feels like shedding a tear,
She cannot stop a monsoon coming and everyone around her abandons her cos of fear.
But they don’t get it,as shes very self-sufficient her love towards the world is selfless,
Not caring about herself she helps out everyone to safety, recovering them form their falls which made them hapless.
But I don’t know when it comes to her people feel a strange kind of pity,
This girls solid as a rock,if you don’t know her by now shes not weak but mighty.
Life throws everything towards her and she battles like a soldier in a war,
Trying to falter her beauty it tries to destroy everything and leave a scar.
But yet she goes on like a superhero waiting for more hurdles to come by,
The storms over, she wins as she yearns for the clear blue sky so that she can fly.
She loves little children so do they, around them shes lost in a parallel universe of her own,
Its just beautiful to watch as she takes care of them, with them around shes never alone.
Well shes also a magician as she weaves magic with her words and her poems are so like mine,
Ive never met anyone who writes like I do, her use of words so perfect and fine.
Shes been through the same path as I have,so I think shes my karmic twin in a way,
When I talk to her on the phone Im left speechless, those moments make my day.
I know shes gonna be successful and prosperous I pray for her everyday.
She deserves all the happiness in the world and shes gonna get them come what may.

The Calamity Called the IPL

Every calamity amasses a massive amount of destruction after it abates. This man made disaster is none different, the cricketing mega event has had severe repercussions on other sports in India but the most affected is none other than the most beautiful game football.
The game in our country had never really come up in modern times, but the revamped I-league had injected a fresh belief that there would be resurgence.
Now that the season has unwinded, cricket has taken centre stage once again as it always has with the people regardless of other achievements by Indians in auxiliary sports, yes that is what cricket has done to other sports.
The survey taken in the football mad city of Kolkata is astonishing. Looks like it was a ploy to form probably the most hep team in the IPL the Kolkata Knight Riders under the stewardship of Shah Rukh Khan. He has demi god like status and it is no surprise that the people of Kolkata surrendered under his magical charm. The team has the backing of the entire city and here comes the dangerous fact.
The attendance of the AFC Cup game of East Bengal was squat compared to the crowds that pushed in for the cricket game at Eden Gardens.Whats happening here? A club with a history of 80 plus years and such a strong base has fallen prey to something that has been established only yesterday?
It just shows the monster of cricket in its latest avatar is eating up football even where football is the top most sport.
It looks like a planned gimmick, because if not for SRK would the team become as popular as it is today?
People from other cities are supporting Kolkata just because of SRK that shows the credibility of the man.
Football is on the verge of becoming a perennial shadow of cricket in our country. It always has been, but the IPL has widened the gulf to an alarming extent.
The blame has to be put partly to the people and organizers.
Most I-League matches are held on weekdays at times around 3.30 pm,the first kick off is an unattractive time for the people who are stuck at work.
The schedule of the season should be changed some what, if the I-league is moved in the months of the monsoon then it would attract a greater following since people somehow associate rains with football, hence the massive following of the world cup and European championships. But moving the time span would affect the AFC scheduling since most leagues around Asia begin during last months of the year.
The people, the major cause of the failure of football to deliver. Yes we have inadequate facilities, ancient stadia; more of quality coming from foreign players, low money etc but it’s the people who are to be blamed for a major chunk of the failure. It’s in our tradition to follow cricket, our parents push us in the direction of total cricket barring few of us that is.
So when you’re brought up only under the influence of cricket you don’t give a damn to other sports.
Now back to the Kolkata survey, parents are pushing their kids into playing cricket professionally since there is a huge lump sum of money for the asking. Kids who play other sports are forced to change their direction which blows off the chances of obtaining young players.
And this has been happening since a long time, but the amount of money that is spinning around the IPL, it has hallucinated the people and the belief in cricket has just become stronger.
Sad to see the community of Mumbai FC in a social networking site has only 900 odd members but Mumbai Indians has over 20,000.
It’s a shame that the people in most parts of India don’t get to see the I-League since the pay channel isn’t available in some regions, but those who get it don’t even bother.
We also don’t get to see the AFC cup, whilst soporific cricket matches are relayed from time to time.
Is the IPL the final nail in the coffin for football and even other sports? Can football ever recover back and reach the pinnacle of glory or will it slowly rust and perish?

Money Talks

This summer beholds a spectrum of uncertainty for both me and my beloved club Roma.Yes,I love comparing the two entities since my genomic sequence has roma etched on it.Roma are on the verge of a take over sicne they are cash strapped right now.Whilst I dunno what i have to do after 3 years of biotech.Since I dont wanna do a ms,the only option is selling my soul and settling in for a mba.I say selling my soul since a mba would only reap benefits for me and not for the community I live in-My mission on this planet.I would deem myself a failure if I didnt do any good for this planet-nature,her beauty and all those life forms that inhabit the mother.
Why is thehuman established society playing such a cruel game on me.All i want is a path where I can fulfill my dreams,I dont believe in education or God(so called rama, vishnu, jesus, allah et al).
Sometimes I fear, the worst,I regret not helping out someone who Id seen in distress.Sometimes I cant muster the courage needed and I blame it on my turbulent personal issues.
I just want a glimmer of light that can guide me,no person but just a sign and a hope I can decipher it.
Otherwise Im falling prey to the vicious circle of money and so is my club AS Roma.
